Today is Canadian violin virtuoso James Ehnes' 40th birthday.

A graduate The Juilliard School where he studied with Ms Sally Thomas, James is widely regarded as one of today's finest international soloists – performing and recording prolifically with the world's leading orchestras and conductors.

He currently concertizes on the 1715 'Ex-Marsick' Stradivarius’
