The Los Angeles Philharmonic has announced the resignation of Chief Executive, Simon Woods

The Los Angeles Philharmonic has this week announced the resignation of Chief Executive, Simon Woods - effective immediately.

He had lead the organization since January, 2018 - and no reason or explanation has been given, at this stage, for the surprise departure.

“The Los Angeles Philharmonic is an extraordinary organization in every respect ... it has been my complete honor to lead it for almost two years ... however, after a great deal of reflection, I have concluded that my hopes and aspirations lie elsewhere, and as a result, I have tendered my resignation,” Simon has this week said in a statement.

British-born, he previously served as President and Chief Executive of the Seattle Symphony, New Jersey Symphony and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
