To help celebrate the international release of superstar violinist Joshua Bell’s new album Bruch: Scottish Fantasy, The Violin Channel in conjunction with Sony Classical, is this week giving away 5 fresh-off-the-press personally-autographed CD copies.

Lead and performed by Joshua with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the disc features Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy - and Violin Concerto No. 1 in G Minor.

“This is the way I like to make music these days … where I am conducting and playing …” Joshua has told The Violin Channel.

“It’s like chamber music, and I think it affects the sound of the concerto … it’s more visceral … ” he has said.

“My father’s family were from Scotland, and I grew up hearing stories about how my great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather fought in the Black Watch in Scotland … my dad was proud of his Scottish heritage, and this connection makes the melodies in Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy even more meaningful to me.”
