Prizes Awarded at Australia's Queensland Symphony Young Instrumentalist Competition

12-year-old cellist Ho-Se Kim has been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Queensland Symphony Orchestra Young Instrumentalist Competition

12-year-old Australian cellist Ho-Se Kim has this week been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Queensland Symphony Orchestra Young Instrumentalist Competition – in Brisbane, Australia.

A student of cellist David Lale, Ho-Se will receive $5,000, mentoring opportunities - plus a solo concerto engagement with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.

Open to pre-college solo orchestral instrumentalists aged 17 years and younger, previous 1st prize winners include: Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Dale Barltrop and Two-Set Violin funster Eddy Chen.
