ZIYU HE | MOZART VIOLIN CONCERTO NO. 1 | 2015 1ST ZHUHAI INTERNATIONAL MOZART COMPETITION FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS | GROUP B 1ST PRIZE | 16 YEARS OLD
"I attended the 2015 1st inaugural Zhuhai Mozart Violin Competition, and it was such an honor for me to receive 1st prize in the 13-16 year old age category at this respected international competition.
It was a special learning opportunity for me and I feel so happy thinking back about it.
Zhuhai is a very beautiful city. It's a comfortable environment along the coast of China with lots of fresh, clean air.
The competition organizers arranged all our meals, living situations, masterclasses, rehearsals and performances and made sure we all received a warm competition experience.
Some of my most memorable moments of the competition include eating in the same restaurants with other musicians from all over the world - getting to taste a variety of foods and sharing our backgrounds and cultures with each other.
I made a lot of good friends here! The Zhuhai competition allowed all of us to connect with each other through music and beyond.
I was also so grateful for the opportunity to perform Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 in A Major with Maestro Jia Lü and the Macao Symphony Orchestra at this year's opening concert of the 2nd Zhuhai Mozart International Violin Competition.
I wish all of this year's competitors the best!
