Applications Open for London's 2022 Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) Auditions [APPLY]
Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) is a UK-based trust that supports musicians in the transition from tertiary study into full-time work. They partnered with New York's Concert Artists Guild so their artists could receive significant performance opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic.
The YCAT auditions offer one of the most significant development opportunities for young musicians anywhere in the world. This year's winners will receive 3-5 years of management, international concert engagements, consultation to support their web presence, marketing and promotion to more than 5,000 different concert halls and providers, professional photoshoots, and live recordings of recitals at London's Wigmore Hall.
Current YCAT artists include Irène Duval, Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux, Randall Goosby, and Geneva Lewis. Previous YCAT alumni include violinist Benjamin Baker, cellist Li-Wei Qin, trumpeter Alison Balson — and the Belcea and Heath String Quartets.
As of May 19, 2022, instrumentalists must be aged 28 or under, singers must be aged 30 or under, and ensembles must have an average age of 30 or under.
Following the initial application stage, there are four days of semi-final auditions and interviews held in Berlin, and then the final auditions, which are public, will be held at the Wigmore Hall.
Applications must be received by 12:00 pm on March 9, 2022.
