Young Classical Artists Trust Welcomes New Artists to its Roster

The six new artists were selected following the Public Final Auditions at Wigmore Hall on June 2

Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) is a UK-based trust that supports musicians in the transition from tertiary study into full-time work. They partnered with New York's Concert Artists Guild so their artists could receive significant performance opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic.

The rising stars who have successfully secured their place on the Young Classical Artists Trust’s (YCAT) roster are:

  • Ignas Maknickas (piano)
  • Charlotte Spruit (violin)
  • Will Duerden (double bass)
  • Trio Chagall (piano trio)
  • VC Artist Hana Chang (violin)
  • Atenea Quartet (string quartet)

Alongside a plethora of performing opportunities in the UK and internationally — these extraordinary musicians will also have the privilege of making their debut performances at the world's most prestigious venues.

Additionally, YCAT will provide professional publicity materials and digital support to enhance their online presence, ensuring maximum exposure for their exceptional talents to cement their path to becoming full-time performing musicians.

Alongside Chief Executive and Artistic Director of YCAT, Alasdair Tait, the jury comprises Angela Dixon, Chief Executive of Saffron Hall; Stephen McHolm, Director of the Verbier Academy; Roger Wright, Chief Executive of Britten Pears Arts; Tanya Bannister, President of Concert Artists Guild, NY; Rachel van-Walsum, Director and co-founder of Maestro Arts.

“At a time when opportunities for our most creative and inspiring young talent are becoming ever more precious and limited, YCAT’s mission to deliver these vital career building opportunities has never felt more important," said Chief Executive and Artistic Director of YCAT, Alasdair Tait. "I’m delighted and excited to be welcoming these new artists to the YCAT family and can’t wait to begin our journey together.”
