New York's classical music radio station, WQXR, announced the recipients of their new Artist Propulsion Lab initiative
In response to the pandemic shutdown, WQXR hand-picked six early and mid-career artists to help support them during this time.
The recipients are:
- VC Artist Junction Trio
- Violist VC Young Artist Jordan Bak
- Violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins
- Pianist Orion Weiss
- Flutist Brandon Patrick George
- Mezzo-soprano Kara Dugan
Each artist will receive an honorarium of $15,000, as well as a budget of up to $5,000 to engage collaborators and commission works.
The cohort of artists will have the opportunity to take advantage of WQXR’s various outlets including Greene Space performances and on-air curation opportunities.
WQXR's website reads, "We welcome these six wonderful artists to the Artist Propulsion Lab, and look forward to enjoying everything they do!"
