Winners Announced for 2020 International Classical Music Awards
The ICMA Awards recognize artists and record labels who made a significant impact in the classical music community this year
The Jury of the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) has been presented annually since 2011, judged by a selection of music critics from print and digital media.
The year’s Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to soprano Edita Gruberova.
Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado was named Artist of the Year and pianist Can Cakmur was awarded Young Artist of the Year.
The Discovery Award went to violinist Maya Wichert, while the Orchestra Awards was given to violinist VC Artist Marc Bouchkov and cellist VC Artist Kian Soltani (pictured).
Berliner Philharmoniker Recordings won Label of the Year.
The Special Achievement Awards were presented to manager Drazen Domjanic and violinist Ingolf Turban.
