Centaur Records has this month announced the international release of viola virtuoso Elias Goldstein’s new album: Paganini: 24 Caprices (Arr. Solo Viola).

The disc features the former top prize winner at the Primrose, Bashmet and Lionel Tertris International Viola Competitions’ original viola arrangements of Paganini's 24 iconic caprices.

"I was encouraged by my grandfather Allen to do this project ... as he is someone who has always believed in me …” Elias has told The Violin Channel.

“Adapting all the caprices for the viola successfully was a huge risk … I was expecting the technical challenge, but the beauty of the music spoke to me in ways that I did not anticipate …” he has said.

“I also did this project to inspire the younger generation of violists to dream big."
