A student of Otakar Sevcik and Julius Winkler, Mr. Schneiderhan was a former Concertmaster of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic
Austrian violinist Wolfgang Schneiderhan was born on this day in 1915.
He gave the premiere performances of a number of important works, including Karl Amadeus Hartmann’s Concerto Funebre and the Viennese premiere of Elgar's Violin Concerto in 1947.
