Naxos Records has this month announced the release of Chinese violin virtuoso Tianwa Yang's new album: 'Wolfgang Rihm'.

Recorded with conductor Darrell Ang and the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the disc features acclaimed contemporary German composer Wolfgang Rihm's solo violin works: Gesungene Zeit, Lichtes Spiel and Coll’Arco.

"For over 10 years Wolfgang Rihm’s music has been a fascination to me and it has been a very prominent part of my repertoire ..." the 31-year-old Naxos Artist has said.

"So far he has written six pieces for violin and orchestra over a time span of nearly 40 years ... I have always dreamed of recording all six pieces and soon that dream will come true ... when Volume 2 of this project is also released," she has said.
