Violinist Simon James to Join San Francisco Conservatory Teaching Faculty
The San Francisco Conservatory has announced the appointment of Australian-born violinist Simon James to its teaching faculty
The San Francisco Conservatory of Music has today announced the appointment of Australian-born violinist Simon James to its teaching faculty - effective from September 2019.
A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Erick Friedman and Szymon Goldberg, Simon currently serves as Second Assistant Concertmaster of the Seattle Symphony.
His famed students include 2016 Junior Menuhin Competition 1st prize winner, VC Rising Star Yesong-Sophie Lee.
"We are thrilled to welcome Simon James to our faculty …” San Francisco Conservatory President David H. Stull has said.
"He is an artist of exceptional caliber and his work as a teacher is evidenced in the many outstanding young violinists emerging within the field today … he will be a superb advocate for his students and I very much look forward to having him as a colleague in the years ahead,” he has said.
