Violinist Mikhail Pochekin Signs with Conciertos Augusto
Pochekin joins violinists including Hilary Hahn, Joshua Bell, Julia Fischer, and Lisa Batiashvili on the company's roster
The Russian violinist Mikhail Pochekin has signed with the Spanish management group Conciertos Augusto S.L., where he will be managed within Spain by Gonzalo Augusto.
In recent years, Pochekin has made solo appearances with the Basel Symphony Orchestra, Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, State Symphony Orchestra of Russia "Evgeny Svetlanov", Russian National Orchestra, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra, among others.
Pochekin first began studying with Galina Turchaninova at age five, and later continued his studies with Viktor Tretiakov, Rainer Schmidt, and Ana Chumachenco. Lessons and masterclasses with Christian Tetzlaff were also a strong influence.
Pochekin frequently appears with his brother, the violinist and violist Ivan Pochekin. In 2018, they released their first joint album "The Unity of Opposites" on the Melodiya label, which includes works for two violins by Prokofiev and Glière, as well as for violin and viola by Mozart and Michael Haydn.
Pochekin is a laureate of the Premio Rodolfo Lipizer Competition, the Pablo Sarasate International Violin Competition, and the Jascha Heifetz International Violin Competition.
Other violinists on the Conciertos Augusto roster include Hilary Hahn, Joshua Bell, Julia Fischer, and Lisa Batiashvili.
