Prizes Awarded at Poland’s Lipiński International Violin Competition
18-year-old violinist Elias David Moncado has been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Karol Lipiński International Violin Competition
18-year-old violinist Elias David Moncado from Germany has today been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Karol Lipiński International Violin Competition – in Toruń, Poland.
A current student of Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum Salzburg, Elias is a former major prize winner at the Hindemith, Andrea Postacchini and Telemann International Violin Competitions.
Open to violinists of any nationality 33 years or under, Elias will receive €20,000.
2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to 22-year-old Robert Łaguniak from Poland - and 23-year-old Yumiko Yumiba from Japan.
The 2019 jury comprised: Ilya Kaler (Chairman), Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Boris Kuschnir, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Jakub Jakowicz and Mariusz Smolij.
