Violinist Anastasia Subrakova Receives 2021 Fritz Gerber Award

Awarded annually since 2015, the prize is given to talented young musicians who are a part of the Lucerne Festival Academy

A protege of Sergiu Schwartz, Svetlana Makarova, and Ilya Gringolts, Siberian violinist Anastasia Subrakova previously won second prize at the Kiwanis Competition in 2019.

Including a cash prize of CHF 10,000 and a scholarship to participate in the Lucerne Festival Academy, this year's Fritz Gerber Award was also given to clarinetist Daniela Braun and saxophonist Luis Homedes López.

Since 1999, the Fritz Gerber Foundation for Gifted Young People has been supporting young artists and athletes in the form of financial contributions to education and training.

Over 2,400 people have benefitted from the foundation's support, with a total donation of over 29 million Swiss francs.
