French-born Spanish violinist Victor Martin has passed away - aged 76

French-born Spanish violinist Victor Martin has passed away - aged 76.

He served as long-term Concertmaster of the National Orchestra of Spain - and as 1st violinist with the Boccherini Quintet and Cassado String Quartet.

He held long-term teaching professorships at the University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music, in Madrid.

Our condolences are with Professor Martin's family, friends, colleagues and students.
