BOSTON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA & BENJAMIN ZANDER
CARNEGIE HALL | NEW YORK CITY, NY
We're coming to you LIVE from Carnegie Hall in New York City this afternoon for a special performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Benjamin Zander.
Today's soloists are: soprano Liv Redpath, mezzo-soprano Ashley Dixon, tenor Nicholas Phan and baritone Alfred Walker, with the Chorus pro Musica.
"“Beethoven’s 9th is the pinnacle work of classical music and I believe I have a new view of the piece which is revolutionary and different,” Benjamin Zander today told VC. “Be sure to tune into the livestream today on The Violin Channel for a fresh interpretation — but one which truly adheres to Beethoven’s desires, wishes and directions," the 83-year-old British-born conductor this week told VC.
