In an unique initiative, all 13 candidates, who were not selected to progress to this year's final round, were invited to form a separate jury panel and were given one collective voting right towards the assessment of their peers. The members of the FVG Orchestra, who performed with this year's four young soloists in the final round, were also granted one collective vote.

The Violin Channel recently sat down with Domenico Mason, Head of Competition, to get a better understanding of this significant, international junior talent development event.

And, also caught up with 2019 former 1st prize winner, Edward Walton from Australia, for a flashback to his winning performance and for some helpful tips for this year's four young finalists.
