Enter now to win 1 of 3 signed copies of VC Artist Augustin Hadelich's newly-released 'Bohemian Tales' CD - courtesy of Warner Classics
To help celebrate this week's international release of VC Artist Augustin Hadelich's new 'Bohemian Tales' CD, The Violin Channel, in conjunction with our good friends at Warner Classics, is this week giving away 3 fresh-off-the-press personally-autographed CD copies.
Recorded with conductor Jakub Hruša, the Symphonie-Orchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and pianist Charles Owen, the disc features Dvořák's Violin Concerto in A Minor, 'Romantic Pieces', 'Songs My Mother Taught Me' and 'Humoresque', Janácek Violin Sonata - and Suk's 'Four Pieces' for Violin and Piano.
"The Dvořák Concerto is still one of the most under-rated 19th Century Concertos - full of soulful, emotional melodies and catchy rhythms ..." Augustin has this week told The Violin Channel.
"And, as different as these three composers were from each other (I sometimes think of Dvořák and Janáček as being polar opposites), all three share a strong connection to the folk music traditions of their country ..." he has said.
"The Dvořák Concerto and Janáček Sonata have been a central part of my repertoire for years, and I never grow tired of them ... Josef Suk's 'Four Pieces' are a more recent discovery for me - this work should be much better known, and has become one of my favorite pieces to play!''
Entries close: Monday 7th July, 2020
