VC Artist NOVO Quartet's New Single, “Aria Op. 9“
Released on Evidence/SCS Collection, the new single features Mieczyslaw Weinberg's Aria Op. 9 for String Quartet
VC Artist NOVO Quartet is among the most in-demand young ensembles in Denmark. Most recently, they won the first prize and four other awards at the 2023 Geneva International Music Competition and were selected by The Danish Arts Foundation for ‘The Young Artistic Elite’ program 2024-26.
Comprised of violinists Kaya Kato Møller and Nikolai Vasili Nedergaard, violist Daniel Śledziński, and cellist Signe Ebstrup Bitsch, the group's newest single is of Aria Op. 9, by Mieczyslaw Weinberg.
"The piece is very dear to our hearts and we had an amazing time recording it in the Salle Cortot in Paris, with a video filmed on location in Copenhagen," shared the quartet.
Released on Evidence/SCS Collection, the new single is a collaboration between Little Tribeca and the Scandinavian Cello School.

The remainder of the 2024 season includes performances at the BLOOM Festival in Denmark, Vejle Kammermusikfestival, Lavaux Classic, and more. Later this year, the NOVO Quartet will be recording a full album.
Earlier in 2023, the NOVO Quartet received both 2nd Prize in the Carl Nielsen Chamber Music Competition and the 1st Prize in the Irene Steels-Wilsing Foundation International String Quartet Competition in Heidelberg. Additional successes include winning the Danish Radio P2 Chamber Music Competition 2020, receiving Léonie Sonning Talent Award 2021, and winning 2nd Prize and the Jury Special Prize at the Trondheim International String Quartet Competition 2021.
