VC Artist Marmen Quartet Performs 2nd Mvt. Haydn String Quartet No. 50

VC Artist Marmen Quartet is a former first prize winner at the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition and joint 1st prize winner at the prestigious 2019 Banff International String Quartet Competition, in Banff, Canada.
Comprised of Sinéad O'Halloran, Bryony Gibson-Cornish, Laia Valentin Braun, and Johannes Marmen, the Quartet served as the 2022 Peak Fellowship Ensemble-in-Residence at the Meadows School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University — in partnership with the Banff International String Quartet Competition.

In 2017, the Banff International String Quartet Festival commenced in non-competition years and features competition alumni alongside special guests.
Led by Director of the Banff International String Quartet Competition Barry Shiffman, the three-day festival showcases today's exquisite talent in classical music.
The 2023 festival's in-person concerts recently came to a close. To celebrate the exciting programming, The Violin Channel will be streaming three of the festival's concerts.
On September 21, the VC Artist Viano Quartet will perform Beethoven, Lau, and Smetena. On September 28, world-renowned artists will perform a program of Vaughan Williams, Haydn, Carmen Braden, and Paul Nero. October 5 will see another group of performers play Beethoven, de Falla, Sarasate, Brahms, and Mendelssohn.
