VC Artist Dami Kim Plays Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1

The South Korean violinist performs with the Gwacheon Symphony Orchestra and conductor Jin Daniel Suh

 

Part of the “Discover Romanticism” series of the Seoul Arts Center, VC Artist Dami Kim’s performance of Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 was filmed by TomatoClassic on May 20, 2022, at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall.

The concert also featured pianist Abiram Reikert in Grieg’s Piano Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture with conductor Jin Daniel Suh and the Gwacheon Philharmonic Orchestra

A graduate of the Curtis Institute, New England Conservatory, and the Kronberg Academy, Dami studied with Aaron Rosand, Miriam Fried, and Mihaela Martin. She is a current doctoral student of Philip Setzer and Jennifer Frautschi at Stony Brook University

Dami is a former major prize winner at the Joseph Joachim, Paganini, Munetsugu Angel, Sendai, Michael Hill, and Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competitions. 

She has performed on a 1731 Stradivarius on loan from Japan’s Yellow Angel Foundation and currently performs on a 1740 Domenicus Montagnana violin.
