Composer Thomas Adès Named Boston Symphony’s Newest Artistic Partner

The Boston Symphony Orchestra has today announced British composer, conductor and pianist, Thomas Adès as their new Artistic Partner.

The role will see the 45 year old play with and conduct the ensemble – as well as compose a number of new works to be premiered throughout the season.

A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he currently serves as Artistic Director of the Tanglewood Festival – and was recently awarded the DKK600000 (US$91,000) 2015 Leonie Sonning Music Foundation Composition Prize.
