Stuttgart International Violin Competition Announces Finalists

Organized by the Guadagnini Foundation and the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, the Stuttgart International Violin Competition is currently underway in Germany.
Announced after a competitive second round, the four finalists are:
- Matthew Hakkarainen
- Ruslan Talas
- Anna Im
- Xiazhuo Wang
Open to international violinists 28 years of age and younger, the 2024 competition's prize money is totaling 60,000 Euros. The first prize winner will benefit from several important performance engagements, the loan of a 1746 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin, and artist management for the three subsequent years.
The 2024 jury comprises Ingolf Turban (President), Shmuel Ashkenasi, Ulf Wallin, Hagai Shaham, Suyoen Kim, Rudolf Koelman, Dr. Harald Eggebrecht, Josef Rissin, and Stefan Fehlandt.
The first two rounds took place with a piano accompaniment, while the final will be accompanied partially by the Lotus Quartet and the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ariel Zuckermann.
