Stuttgart International Violin Competition Announces Finalists

Watch the four finalists compete LIVE on The Violin Channel on February 24 and 25

 

Organized by the Guadagnini Foundation and the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, the Stuttgart International Violin Competition is currently underway in Germany.

Audiences can tune in here on Saturday and Sunday to watch the competition LIVE on The Violin Channel.

Announced after a competitive second round, the four finalists are:

  • Matthew Hakkarainen
  • Ruslan Talas
  • Anna Im
  • Xiazhuo Wang

Open to international violinists 28 years of age and younger, the 2024 competition's prize money is totaling 60,000 Euros. The first prize winner will benefit from several important performance engagements, the loan of a 1746 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin, and artist management for the three subsequent years.

The 2024 jury comprises Ingolf Turban (President), Shmuel AshkenasiUlf WallinHagai ShahamSuyoen KimRudolf KoelmanDr. Harald EggebrechtJosef Rissin, and Stefan Fehlandt.

The first two rounds took place with a piano accompaniment, while the final will be accompanied partially by the Lotus Quartet and the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ariel Zuckermann.
