Semi-Finalists Announced at Switzerland's Junior Tibor Varga Violin Competition

The semi-final round of the competition will take place on Thursday, April 8 at 4:00 AM (EDT) streamed live on The Violin Channel

The 2021 Junior Tibor Varga Violin Competition, in Sion, Switzerland, announced its six semi-final candidates.

The semi-finalists are:

• Maya Alexandra Kasprzak
• Moë Dierstein
• Anais Feller
• Oleksandra Khmara
• Leonardo Gonzalez
• Lora Markova

Open to violinists 14-18 years old, the first prize winner will receive CHF 20,000.

The 6 candidates who did not progress to the next round join this year's jury.

"Personally, I would rather join the jury," said Pavel Vernikov, artistic director and jury chairman.

The 2021 jury comprises Pavel Vernikov (President), Alexia Eichhorn, Dong-Suk Kang and Noémie Robidas.
