Acclaimed American musical theatre composer Harvey Schmidt has died - aged 88
Acclaimed American musical theatre composer Harvey Schmidt has died - aged 88.
He is best known for composing the music to the musical ‘The Fantasticks’, which ran off-Broadway in New York City from 1960 until 2002 - the longest running musical in history.
'Try to Remember,' the best-known work from the show, has been recorded by hundreds of artists over the decades - including Ed Ames, Harry Belafonte, Barbra Streisand and Placido Domingo.
