Prizewinners Announced at the Hong Kong International Young Musicians' Competition
Kim Byeol Claire was named as the winner of the senior category
The fourth edition of the Hong Kong International Young Musicians' Competition has recently come to a close. Held at the Auditorium Tsuen Wan Town Hall of Hong Kong, the competition was open to candidates of all nationalities, and divided its candidates into four categories according to their age.
In 2024, the jury comprised Kirill Troussov (Chair, Artistic Director), Savva Fatkulin, Tong Weidong, Ho-Young Pi, Leung Kin Fung, and Feng Jia.
The prizes are as follows:
Category A (candidates up to age 7)
- First Place: Yoon Jibin ($700)
- Second Place: Keira Shing ($500)
- Third Place: Lu Xiyuan Amelia and Ng Wan Chi ($200)
Category B (candidates aged 8-10)
- First Place: Ma TengYing ($1,200)
- Second Place: Chen Li Daniel Valentino ($800)
- Third Place: Wong Ngai Nam Eleanor ($500)
Category C (candidates aged 8-10)
- First Place: Liu Chun Xi ($1,600)
- Second Place: Huang YuChan ($1,200)
- Third Place: Xu Langyi ($800)
- Fourth Place: Wong Ching Ho
- Fifth Place: Lee Pui San Abigail
- Sixth Place: Wong Ngai Wan Evangeline
Category D (candidates aged 16-23)
- First Place: Kim Byeol Claire ($2,000)
- Second Place: Wu Mengdie ($1,600)
- Third Place: Sofia Malvinni and Ian Cheung ($1,200)
- Fourth Place: Wu Yingtong
- Fifth Place: Lin Tinyuan
The winner of each category also received a set of Pirastro Perpetual Violin Strings and rosin.
Established in 2020, the Hong Kong International Young Musicians Competition aims to provide young musicians with an international platform for creativity and expression.
