OUT NOW | Violinist Anna Im Releases "Amabile" CD
Released on Atoll Records, Im performs with pianist Ilya Rashkovskiy on the new album
The album features Grieg's Violin Sonata No. 3 in C minor, Tchaikovsky and Schumann's romances, Paganini's "Cantabile," and Brahms' Violin Sonata No. 2 in A major.
Partners of this album included Florian Riem, the former CEO and Artistic Director of the Tongyeong International Music Foundation, and his colleagues at the Tongyeong Concert Hall and the World Federation of International Music Competitions.
In 2019, Anna Im was the first prize winner of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition — which help in realizing this opportunity under the highly unusual circumstances of the pandemic.
“I truly hope that listening to this album will be a source of warmth, comfort, and joy, particularly in these trying times,” wrote Im on her Facebook page. “All of these pieces are very near and dear to me, and I'm so grateful for the chance to share them with you.
“The pandemic has given us a world and trials that we have never experienced before, but in the midst of it, we constantly searched for ways to coexist with art,” she continued.
“I am happy that my album has become a testament to the collaboration and hard work of many people in the art world that crosses borders, and the courage of all, despite this difficult global situation,” she added. “Recording for this album was an experience like no other, and I'm eternally grateful to the many people who made it possible.”
