Naxos Records has announced the release of Austrian-born cellist Martin Rummel's new album: 'Carl Reinecke Complete Works for Cello and Piano'
Naxos Records has this month announced the release of Austrian-born cellist Martin Rummel's new album: Carl Reinecke Complete Works for Cello and Piano.
Recorded with pianist Roland Krüger, the disc features the complete works for cello & piano by German 19th Century composer Carl Reinecke (1824-1910).
'Reinecke’s Cello Sonatas are a perfect example of undeservedly forgotten repertoire ..." Martin has told The Violin Channel.
"They bridge the gap between Mendelssohn and Brahms and I would like to see them on concert programmes and radio playlists much more often ...' he has said.
"These pieces are a great example for being rewarded for curiosity ... a wide range of emotions and expressions, from virtuosity to solemnity, from humor to deep sadness – Reinecke covers all of it, with great skill and profound understanding of the two instruments."
