Noga String Quartet Awarded 1st Prize at Melbourne Chamber Music Comp

The Noga String Quartet has been awarded the Grand Prize at the 2015 Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, in Melbourne, Australia.
The Berlin-based ensemble, comprising violinists Simon Roturier and Lauriane Bernhes, violist Avishai Chameides and cellist Joan Bachs will receive AUD $24,000 (US $18,000).

The UK-based Linos Piano Trio was awarded 1st prize in the Piano Trio division.
The Vienna-based Giocoso String Quartet was awarded the audience prize and the Musica Viva Australia prize.
This year’s jury comprises violinists Martin Beaver, Berit Cardas, Boris Kuschnir, Irina Morozova, cellists Vladimir Balshin and Howard Penny and pianist Bright Sheng.
