Menuhin Competition Candidates, Guests & Jury Confirmed for 2021
The Menuhin Competition has announced that all 44 competitors and all guest artists have committed to the 2021 Competition
The Menuhin Competition, in Richmond, Virginia has this week announced that all 44 competitors and all guest artists have committed to the 2021 Competition.
It was announced last month that the 2020 competition will be postponed until May 13th - 23rd, 2021 - due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2021 jury will comprise: Pamela Frank, Joji Hattori, Aaron Dworkin, Ralph Kirshbaum, Soyoung Yoon, Piers Lane - and VC Artists Noah Bendix-Balgley, Angelo Xiang Yu and Ray Chen.
Guest performers Regina Carter, Mark & Maggie O'Connor, the Sphinx Virtuosi and TwoSet Violin have also confirmed their participation in 2021.
The competition has this week also launched an original new podcast series, entitled Making Menuhin - which will introduce audiences to the talented young musicians who will compete in 2021.
As the competition’s official media and broadcast partner, The Violin Channel will be providing exclusive rolling-coverage from the 2021 competition – live from all venues.
