American cellist Paul Tobias has passed away - from injuries sustained in a fall.
He served teaching positions at Harvard University, New England Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music and Mannes College.
He had premiered a number of new works - including cello concerti by Krzysztof Penderecki and Peter Schickele.
