Brazilian-born New York luthier Luiz Bellini has passed away – aged 79.

A protege of Vincente Policene, Simone Sacconi and Jacques Francais, his famed clients included Yehudi Menuhin, Gidon Kremer, David Nadien, Ruggiero Ricci Glenn Dicterow and Berl Senofsky.

Our condolences are with Mr Bellini's family, friends and colleagues.
