The quartet Leonkoro Quartet won several prestigious prizes in 2022, including First Prize at the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition, First Prize at the Quatuor à Bordeaux Competition, and the Jürgen Ponto Foundation Music Prize.
Also this year, the group was named a participant in the BBC's Radio 3 New Generation Artists Program for the period 2022-24.
The quartet consists of Jonathan Schwarz and Amelie Wallner (violins), Mayu Konoe (viola), and Lukas Schwarz (cello).
At Ibermúsica Artists, they will be represented by Mònica Royuela and Carolina Escárate.
Ibermúsica represents a number of prominent string players in Spain, including Michael Barenboim, Renaud Capuçon, and Nemanja Radulović.
"We are absolutely delighted to share that we have signed with Ibermúsica for representation in Spain!" wrote the quartet. "We are so humbled to join yet another roster of fantastic artists and we are very much looking forward to our co-operation."
"We have already experienced the warm welcome and eager audience during our studies at the Escuela Reina Sofía since the very beginning of our formation - we are so much looking forward to share our music with even more of you!"
