Conductor Min Chung Signs with New Management
London-based management agency Askonas Holt will represent the German-born Korean conductor
Chung will join Askonas Holt’s roster for general management, represented by Jessica Wadey.
Surrounded by music since a young age, he is the son of conductor and pianist Myung-Whun Chung, and the nephew of violinist Kyung-wha Chung and cellist Myung-wha Chung.
After graduating high school, Min Chung majored in German literature and violin at Seoul National University in Korea. He made his conducting debut in 2007 with Aloysius Symphony Orchestra.
In 2020, Chung was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of Italy’s Orchestra Haydn di Trento e Bolzano, and since 2015, holds the role of Associate Conductor of Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
Recent guest conducting engagements include concerts with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI di Torino, Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, and Korea Chamber Orchestra.
His repertoire also includes conducting "Madame Butterfly" with the Mariinsky Theatre and Korean National Opera, and "La traviata" and "Don Carlo" for Teatro Politeama Greco.
Chung will join artists such as violinist Nicola Benedetti, conductor-pianist Daniel Barenboim, conductor Nicholas Carter, and the string group Chiaroscuro Quartet on the Askonas Holt roster.
In addition, he will be represented in Italy by Ornella Cogliolo, in Japan by Almond Music, and in Korea by stageone.
