Italian Violist Andrea Alpestre has Died
Alpestre was a professor at Italy’s National Academy of Santa Cecilia music school
Andrea Alpestre held a teaching position at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia conservatory in Rome and played in the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia for over 20 years since 2001. He was also associated with Italy’s Turin Conservatory.
Alpestre is remembered by his colleagues and students as a great friend, teacher, and excellent musician on both violin and viola.
“[We] express deep condolences for the untimely demise of the Professor,” the National Academy of Santa Cecilia wrote on Facebook. “[He was an] unforgettable companion of many musical adventures.”
