2018 German Music Competition Winners Announced - Including VC Young Artist Ioana Cristina Goicea
25 year old VC Young Artist Ioana Cristina Goicea has been announced as one of six 1st prize recipients at the 2018 German Music Competition
25 year old VC Young Artist Ioana Cristina Goicea from Romania has today been announced as one of six 1st prize recipients at the 2018 German Music Competition - on Bonn, Germany.
A current post-graduate student at the Hannover University of Music, where she studies with Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Ioana was awarded 1st prize at the 2017 Michael Hill International Violin Competition, in New Zealand.
Awarded annually since 1975 to soloists, duos, ensembles and composers, Ioana will receive €5,000 support from the German Music Council - plus a number of important concert debuts and a CD recording on the Genuin label.
This year's other 1st prize recipients included bassoonist Theo Plath, accordionist Maciej Frackiewicz, composers Ling-Hsuan Huang and Francesco Ciurlo and the Eliot String Quartet.
This year's string jury comprised: Oliver Wille, Lena Eckels, Jurgen Kussmaul, Contrad Muck, Stephan Picard, Stefan Heinemeyer and Harald Schoneweg.
Previous solo 1st prize winners include VC Young Artist Tobias Feldmann.
