24 year old German violinist Friederike Starkloff has today been announced as the new 1st Concertmaster of the NDR Radiophilharmonie, in Hannover.
A student of Professor Antje Weithaas, at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler, Friederike is a former 1st prize winner at the Miroslaw Lawrynowicz, Spohr, Dresden and Long-Thibaud-Crespen International Violin Competitions.
She will replace Volker Worlitzsch – who had served the role since 1970.
