Spanish Violinist Francisco Garcia Fullana Awarded 1st Prize at Brahms International
24 year old Spanish violinist Francisco Garcia Fullana has been awarded 1st prize at the Brahms International Violin Competition, in Pörtschach, Austria.
A graduate of the Juilliard School and the University of Southern California, where he studied with Donald Weilerstein and Midori Goto, Francisco is a former prize winner at the Sarasate and Julio Cardona International Violin Competitions.
2nd prize was awarded to 20 year old Polish violinist Celina Kotz – and 3rd prize to 27 year old Marie Isabel Kropfitsch, from Austria.
In this year's viola division, 1st prize was awarded to 24 year old Jan Snakowski from Poland, 2nd prize to 27 year old Hiyoli Togawa from Japan – and 3rd prize to 22 year old Przemyslaw Pujanek, from Poland.
In this year's cello division, 1st prize was awarded to 19 year old Michiaki Ueno from Japan, 2nd prize to 25 year old Yoon Kyung Cho from South Korea – and 3rd prize to 23 year old Jung-Hsuan Ko, from Taiwan.
All three 1st prize winners will receive EUR 2500 (USD $3240) each.
