The category Finalists have today been announced at the 2019 Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition – in Budapest, Hungary.
The 9 to 12-year-old category Finalists are:
- Defne Güngör (10, Turkey)
- Gáspár Kelemen (11, Hungary)
- Yume Tomita (11, Japan/United Kingdom)
The 13 to 15-year-old category Finalists are:
- Doruk Deniz Aksu (15, Turkey)
- Benedetta Fiechter (14, Italy)
- Julianna Gaál (15, Hungary)
- Mariam Obolashvili (15, Georgia)
- Evan Pyne (15, Canada)
The 16 to 18-year-old category Finalists are:
- Doga Altınok (18, Russia)
- Chien Chin (18, China)
- Ahmet Eren (16, Turkey)
- Sára Kovács (16, Hungary)
Open to international violinists between the ages of 9 and 18 years old, the 1st prize winner in this year's senior category will receive €1000.
The 2019 jury comprises: Shlomo Mintz (President), Cihat Aşkın, Herbert Greenberg, Lutsia Ibragimov, Qian Zhou and Éva Ácsné Szily.
The final round of this year's competition will be streamed live on The Violin Channel.
