Applications are open for the the inaugural Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition
Applications are open for the inaugural Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition – to be held at the Lynn University Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton, United States from January 22nd to February 5th, 2017.
Open to candidates of any nationality, aged between 16 and 32, the 1st prize winner will receive US $30,000, significant career development, publicity and management support plus a number of important performance opportunities.
“I truly believe in giving back,” Mr Oliveira has told The Violin Channel, “ … I have had a wonderful career, helped by many people in the industry. Now, it is my time to do the same.”
“I have created this competition in an effort to secure a future for a young violinist,” he has said.
The 2017 jury will comprise: Andrés Cárdenes, Gudny Gudmundsdottir, Daniel Heifetz, Ilya Kaler, Vera Tsu Wei-ling, Charles Castleman and Elmar Weingarten.
