An online experiment, designed to test if collective wisdom is smarter than individual opinion, has been launched - where a melody is currently being generated, note by note, via crowd-surfing votes.

‘This is an experiment in crowd-sourced songwriting ...” the project's programmer, Brendon Ferris has said, “... a melody is currently being generated, note by note, in real-time, using the popular vote of the crowd.’

Over 5000 people have to date cast votes for the “Crowd Sound” project - with each new note chosen after 100 votes are received.

The melody itself is just the first experiment..,” the programmer has said “...once the song is finished, CrowdSound is also going to crowdsource the lyrics.”
