Czech Republic's Janáček Philharmonic Announces New Music Director
The Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra has announced the appointment of Russian conductor Vassily Sinaisky as its new Music Director
The Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, in Ostrava, Czech Republic has this week announced the appointment of Russian conductor Vassily Sinaisky as its new Music Director - effective from September 2020.
The 73-year-old previously served as Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Bolshoi Theatre, in Moscow - and currently serves as Conductor Emeritus of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Latvian National Symphony and the Malmö Symphony Orchestra.
"Janáček Philharmonic is a very progressive orchestra and I am looking forward to performing many great programs together," Maestro Sinaisky has this week said.
The orchestra has also appointed pianist Lukáš Vondráček as the ensemble's Artist-in-Residence - and conductor Petr Popelka to the role of Principal Guest Conductor.
