Chicago Sinfonietta Offers "Pay What You Can" Priced Tickets

With their 2021-22 season, the ensemble announced a pilot program to increase accessibility for its diverse programming

Concertgoers may pay what they choose, with prices starting at just $5.

The Chicago Sinfonietta’s CEO Blake-Anthony Johnson and music director Mei-Ann Chen recently revealed its 34th season, titled "Revelry!"

The season will feature a series of performances including world premieres and guest artists: VC Artist violinist Tessa Lark, baritone Will Liverman, violinist Melissa White, and dancers from Clinard Dance.

"Accessibility is a cornerstone of our mission and we plan to build on our successful pivot to virtual programming that included nearly 40 countries joining us right here in Chicago,” said Johnson in a press release.

"As the world continues to make a comeback from the pandemic, we are pleased to continue to offer, in addition to our live events, a variety of online offerings — not only to our audiences throughout the Chicago area, but to our growing audiences worldwide. We are also thrilled to offer another Chicago Sinfonietta first: 'Pay What You Can' ticket pilot program, a natural evolution of our mission."

"Revelry!, our 34th season, centers on offering our audiences deeper insights into the joy of music via musical viewpoints from various world cultures from yesteryear through today," added Chen.
