Cellist Gavriel Lipkind and Violinist Anna Lipkind-Mazor Aim to Fundraise €800,000 for Son's Cancer Treatment
The couple are seeking donations towards eight-year-old Adam's treatment at a specialist hospital in Barcelona
The Amsterdam-based Israeli couple Gavriel Lipkind (cello) and Anna Lipkind-Mazor (violin) are calling on the help of the public to secure cancer treatment for their eight-year-old son, Adam.
Shortly after Adam's third birthday, the couple noticed a small lump on his neck — but were reassured by doctors that the growth was benign. However, in 2023 it was confirmed that Adam had nodular ganglioneuroblastoma, which is a rare and aggressive type of cancer.
Doctors carried out surgery to remove the tumor, but sadly the cancer has returned. After careful research, the Lipkind-Mazors have decided that the best care for Adam's situation is at the Sant Joan de Déu Children's Hospital in Barcelona — but this treatment will cost €800,000.
While their health insurance may be able to cover a portion of the cost, the couple actively needs to fundraise for Adam's care.
Please consider making a donation on the couple's GoFundMe page.
"As parents, there’s nothing we won’t do to save our son’s life," the couple wrote. "Adam is only eight; he has so much left to experience, so many dreams yet to chase. Your support – no matter how big or small – can make a world of difference."
"Please, consider donating and sharing our story. Your kindness brings us closer to the hope that Adam can grow up, healthy and free from this terrible illness."
"Thank you for helping us fight for our son’s life."
