Bron Students Dominate Lipinski Wieniawski Junior Competition
Elli Choi, from the United States and Eva Rabchevska, from Ukraine have been awarded joint-1st prize in the Senior Division of the 2015 Lipinski and Wieniawski International Competition for Young Violinists, in Poland.
Both girls are current students of the competition's Founder and Jury President, Professor Zakhar Bron.
3rd prize was awarded to Kyoto Ogawa, from Japan.
Joint-4th prize was awarded to Aleksander Daszkiewicz and Emila Jarocka, from Poland.
In the Junior Division, joint-1st prize was awarded to Issel Burzynska from Poland/Spain, Eugene Kawai from Japan and Elea Nick from Switzerland.
Issel and Elea are also both current students of Professor Bron.
2nd, 3rd and 4th prizes were awarded to Paloma So Chin Cham from Canada/China, Nao Mizukoshi from Japan and Sara Dragan from Poland.
Joint-5th prize was awarded to Eduard Kollert from the Czech Republic and Wendi Wang from China.
The Senior 1st prize winners will receive 10,000 PLN (US $2700) - with the Junior to be awarded 7000 PLN (US $1900).
This year's jury comprised: Zakhar Bron (President), Romani Lasock (Vice-President), Marcin Baranowski, Bartosz Bryla, Dominika Falger, Andrezej Gebski, Yair Kless, Szymon Krzeszowiec, Patrycja Piekutowska, Maurizio Sciarretta, Akiko Tatsumi, Dima Tkachenko, Alexander Trostiansky, Sung-won Yun and Qian Zhou.
The results come just months after all 6 top prizes at the 2015 Goldstein International Violin Competition, where Bron also served as the competition's Jury President, were awarded to his current students.
