Dutch violinist and conductor Jaap Schröder has passed away - aged 94.
Mr Schröder served as longtime Music Director and Concertmaster of the Academy of Ancient Music, in London - and the Smithsonian Chamber Players, in Washington D.C.
He was a founding member of the the Quartetto Esterhazy, Smithson String Quartet and the Skálholt Quartet - and held teaching positions on faculty at Yale University, the Peabody Conservatory and the Banff School of the Arts.
