Heiko Mathias Förster, 55, has been named the new chief conductor of the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, Baden-Baden, Germany. He previously served as chief conductor of the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, and music director of the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen.
Förster has also guest conducted major orchestras all over the world, including the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Stuttgart Philharmonic, Berliner Symphoniker, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, NDR Radiophilharmonie, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra.
In recent years, Förster has been primarily active in the Czech Repulic, collaborating with the Prague Symphony Orchestra since 2009 and conducting the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
