3 Teen Grand Finalists Announced at Australian 'Young Performer of the Year' Awards
The 3 finalists have been announced at the 2014 Australian ‘Young Performer of the Year’ Awards, in Adelaide, Australia – including VC ‘Rising Star’, violinist Grace Clifford.
This year’s finalists are: 16 year old violinist Grace Clifford, 15 year old oboist Andrew Kawai and 18 year old violinist Anna Da Silva Chen.
Regarded as Australia’s most important classical music prize for instrumentalists 30 years and younger, previous winners include international string soloists: Adele Anthony, Li-Wei Qin, Ji Won Kim and VC ‘Young Artist’ Suyeon Kang.
The nationally-telecast Grand Final will take place on Thursday August 28th at the Adelaide Town Hall, accompanied by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra – with the Australian 'Young Performer of the Year’ to receive AUD $25,000, a CD recording and a number of important solo engagements.
